Application Procedure for TRADICEM

1. Surface Preparation
Proper surface preparation is essential for a high-quality finish:

  • Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, loose paint, or other contaminants that might affect adhesion.
  • Repair any imperfections, irregularities, or cracks on the surface before proceeding.
  • Lightly sand the surface to increase roughness and improve product adhesion.
  • Remove sanding residue using a vacuum or a damp cloth, and let the surface dry completely.

2. Mesh Placement and Primer Application

  • Mesh: Place a fiberglass mesh on the surface. This ensures a solid base, minimizes the risk of cracks, and improves the system’s durability.
  • Primer: Apply a uniform layer of PRIMER or PRIMERQUARTZ using a roller or brush. This creates an optimal adhesion layer between the base and the microcement.
  • Let the primer dry for 30 minutes.

3. Application of TRADICEM L or XL (Base Layer)

  • First Layer:
    • Mix TRADICEM L or XL with the liquid component (approx. 30%).
    • Apply the first layer of TRADICEM without pigment using a flexible metal trowel. Spread the material evenly across the surface.
    • Let it dry completely (8 to 24 hours, depending on environmental conditions).
  • Second Layer:
    • Mix TRADICEM with the desired pigment.
    • Apply the second layer evenly, ensuring any irregularities are eliminated.
    • Once dry, sand the surface with 40-grit sandpaper to smooth it and remove imperfections.

4. Application of TRADICEM M or S (Finish Layer)

  • First Layer:
    • Prepare TRADICEM M or S with the selected pigment.
    • Apply a thin, even layer, covering the entire surface.
    • Let it dry completely and sand with 120-grit sandpaper to smooth and prepare for the final layer.
  • Second Layer:
    • Apply a second layer of the same product and sand again once dry. This step ensures a smooth, silky finish with the desired aesthetic effect.

5. Final Sealing and Protection
Once the microcement is completely dry, seal the surface with the following steps:

  1. Apply a layer of PRIMER with a roller to saturate and protect the surface.
  2. Apply two coats of VARNISH W using a roller or brush, allowing each coat to dry in between. This ensures durable sealing and protects the finish from wear, moisture, and stains.

Additional Tips:

  • Always perform a test on a small area to verify the color and system compatibility.
  • Work under controlled temperature and humidity conditions for optimal results (ideal temperature: between 10 °C and 25 °C).
  • Clean tools immediately after use to prevent the product from hardening on them.
