Application Method for ONEPOX
1. Surface Preparation
Proper base preparation is essential to ensure an optimal result:
The surface must be clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, loose paint, or any contaminants that could compromise the adhesion of the epoxy microcement. Any cracks, imperfections, or irregularities must be repaired before proceeding.
Lightly sand the surface to increase its roughness and improve product adhesion. Remove sanding residues with a vacuum cleaner or damp cloth, ensuring the surface is completely dry before moving to the next step.
2. Primer Application
Primer: Use Prepox W as the primer to ensure optimal adhesion of the system. Apply an even coat with a roller or brush on the prepared surface.
It is crucial not to wait more than 24 hours between applying Prepox W and the first layer of ONEPOX.
3. ONEPOX Base Application (First and Second Layer)
First Layer:
Apply ONEPOX L directly using a flexible metal trowel, spreading it evenly across the entire surface.
Drying time ranges from 6 to 12 hours, depending on environmental conditions (temperature and humidity). Once dry, sand the surface with 40-grit sandpaper to level and remove any imperfections.
Second Layer (Optional): If necessary, apply a second layer following the same procedure to ensure a completely uniform base.
4. ONEPOX M or S Application (Finish Layer)
First Layer:
Use ONEPOX M or S (depending on the desired finish) to achieve an aesthetic, uniform finish. Spread the material evenly across the surface using a flexible metal trowel.
Once dry, sand with 120-grit sandpaper to achieve a smooth, even surface.
Second Layer:
If deemed necessary, apply a second coat of ONEPOX M or S, ensuring full coverage of the surface. Sand again once dry to guarantee a flawless, silky, and natural finish.
5. Sealing and Final Protection
To protect the surface and ensure the system’s durability:
Apply two coats of VARNISH W (or VARNISH DSV if greater chemical or water resistance is required). Always respect drying times between coats.
Additional Recommendations
- Always perform a preliminary test in a small area to check product compatibility and the final color.
- Work in controlled conditions, with temperatures between 10 °C and 25 °C and moderate humidity levels.
- Clean tools immediately after use to prevent the material from hardening on them.
This procedure ensures that the ONEPOX system delivers high resistance, professional aesthetics, and excellent durability.
